The Plant

The Plant Recording Studios in Sausalito have been the recording home for Van Morrison, Jefferson Starship, The Doobie Brothers, Journey, and numerous other legendary aretists.  To update the acoustics and environment for the demands of jazz, rock, and vocals, we collaborated with Manny LaCarrubba, designer and mix engineer, and Frank Hubach, acoustical engineer.  Studio “A” was rebuilt for live tracking with aim to increase spatial volume and enhance “drum decay.” The new studio is 1,200 square feet with three iso booths. In a later phase, we transformed an auxiliary studio into a control room, with an acoustically transparent elliptical shell and a multi-purpose 200 square foot isolation booth. These rooms have been employed in the tracking and mixing of artists including Metallica,  Dave Matthews Band, Joe Satriani, and John Lee Hooker.
